     Yes, IF we can predict what mirror-people that come alive would do. : ) Wouldn´t they reverse our expectations about them just like the mirror reverses the physical appearances reflected in it?

     I like twin peaks-y. To me Lynch often seems to suggest that the cause of feelings and perceptions are situated in a ”third dimension”, a quiet neutral place that generates all interpretative aspects, including the spectator´s percieved conflict between dreamy/nightmarish and realistic narrative parts.
